The joy of ebay...

By the time you read this I will have probably sold Christine's old iBook computer on ebay. It's pretty exciting for me because I've never delved into the dark realms of selling or buying on ebay for myself.

Recently as you may know I got a new computer for work which in turn meant that my faithful black Macbook became Christine's. We put her cute little iBook away purely for setimental reasons... until I suggested we have some fun and put it on ebay. Christine was most agreeable (she's not very attached to "stuff"). I wiped the hard drive, ran all the system tests on it and did a fresh install of the Operational System.

At the moment the bidding stands at $360 crazy stuff. I'll keep you posted.

Olivia and the airwalk

Christine and I along with both sets of parents went down to the Tahune Airwalk last Saturday. It was the first trial run of the Mountain Buggy. I was on my best behavior until the lady at the front desk, glancing at my Mountain Buggy pram, said "If you need some help we can call and get someone to drive you up there."

Part of me wanted to piffle her in the head for a) doubting my awesomeness* and b) doubting the MB. "You won't be able to get up the the stairs." she insisted. Part of me inside wanted to yell "Don't you know I AM MAN! Me have Mountain Buggy!" but I mercifully refrained.

Not only did I push the MB all the way up the stairs but also all the way down. It's a tough pram and Olivia, strapped in tight, loved it. About half way up Christine's Dad spotted a group of grey haired older folk sitting taking a breather. He walked up to them...
"So you guys are all here ready for the bungee jumping class?" he announced, as though he was running the course. I had to run away before I wet myself.

* I probably mean "determination"

I love my wife

I'm sitting at home listening to the Weepies waiting for my wonderful wife to get home. I love her very very much. I'm a very happy man when I'm with her. That is all.

Strahan and back again

At Mikey's suggestion Christine and I went away for a mini break on Friday and Saturday. I borrowed my old car from my brother and we drove to Strahan on the West Coast. Unfortunately I was sick with a sore throat (still?) there whole time.

The mighty Camry (Chugging since '89)

View from where we stayed. Pretty swish.

It was a really beautiful to get away and enjoy part of the State which I've called home for the last fifteen years. If you haven't been here you should come it's simple as that.

Most awesomely we picked up a hitchiker from the Czech Republic who was interested in talking about Christianity. Good stuff.

1 year on

Christine and I celebrate one year of marriage today. I love her more and more as each day passes I thought for the occasion that I'd dig this little beauty out of my archive of videos. Enjoy.

I am on holidays...

... and so is Christine till the end of this week. We're going away somewhere nice this week... Oh and we went to Bruny Island the other day. I'll post some pictures and more info once I get my camera back from Laura.

In other news yesterday was my lovely wife's birthday. I did a few different things for her birthday rather than one big "gift".

  • We went out for dinner to Mojo restaurant
  • I bought her a flower
  • We went out to see the new Indiana Jones film (her choice).
  • I bought her a nice bottle of champagne.
  • Gave her lots of cuddles.
  • We also had a birthday toastie evening last night which was fun. (Again the pictures are all with Laura).

Holidays

Christine and I went on a little holiday over the Easter break. We drove up the East Coast and stayed at Swansea for a couple of nights. It was very enjoyable and great to get away and have a good rest.

They've arrived

25 boxes of joy... and it only took over 5 months... The irony was that it came at 7:30am this morning a half hour earlier than they said. It has been a happy day off for me unpacking.

It was a reminder that I am married to a woman who still has lots of clothes... still it will be very nice to not see the same things over and over again.

The gentle art of enthusiastic complaining...

Christine packed her things up in May this year... yes May and they still haven't arrived.

The movers told her it would take between 2 and 5 months. So since then she's been wearing the same suitcases worth of clothes over and over again. So I rang up and complained.

Now I think I'm a good complainer. I used to work in retail so I know what it's like to talk to rude customers... I don't ever loose my temper or get personal. It does help to be a little worked up (enthusiastic is a better term). A conversation might go like this.

"Now I don't want you to take it personally but I'm pretty frustrated right now. We were told that it would take 2 to 5 months and it's now well over that. I just don't think that's good enough. Also you guys have told us several times that our stuff has arrived or is in transit when it hasn't been.

I realise this might not be your fault personally, but I want you to understand how annoying it is not having clothes, books, kitchenware etc for 5 months. Imagine wearing one suitcases worth of clothes everyday for 5 months it gets a little repetitive. So what I want to know is what you are going to do about it? Because right at this moment I don't think your efforts have been good enough. What are you going to do to make sure we get our stuff."

You get the idea... Delivery has been arranged and the stuff arrives next week. Oh and the bloke at the movers calls me "Sir"

More freaking wedding pics

But these ones are taken by the professional photographer...

This picture really shows how I felt about the photo experience (it took 2 hours)

This would be my favorite of Christine and I

Let's have a competition for the best caption/thought bubble for this picture... what am I thinking?

Married, Busy, Stuff

Where have I been? I know what you're thinking... "Now he's married he's going all dismal"... Well let the cynical reader know I have not become "all dismal". I still stay up late and people still come round to visit.

Being married to Christine is strange. It's kinda like being married to ya best friend (except there are benefits*). Again the transition into married life has been a pretty smooth one which is reason to give thanks to God.

So where have I been? Why the lack of blogging? I'm not sure to be honest. It hasn't been like a conscious break nor has it been for lack of inspiration. I guess I have been pretty busy that's been nice.

We've been looking for a house. I've looked at a few so far but none have really cut it. They either seem to be too expensive or in the wrong place or just a bit too yucky. Now that might sound picky but I am in the first year of marriage and I figure I can be a little picky.

Speaking of picky I've also been starring Christine's entire i-tunes library while trying to persuade her that Michael Bubble (sic) is the anti Christ.

To my horror I did a budget for the first time and realized this MTS thing is going to see us slide backward into savings. This is ok as we have savings but it's not ideal. I guess it's been a time of counting the cost.

Oh one thing before I go you must absolutely get facebook if you haven't already you are a crazy person.

*I'm talking about her cooking you sickos
