Assorted stuff

I created a birthday event on facespace for myself and Jonny. We are calling it Jolly's 18th and Jonny's 40th.

I lost my/Christine's ipod.

I am angry.

I am taking it easy today.

Sorry to hear about the loss of the ipod. Is the anger a response to this?

it's more a form of apathetic anger... and yes in response to the lost ipod.

If you want to post criticism at least have the courtesy to leave your name.

Comments of a similar nature will be deleted.

My name is Jennifer. I'm at Uni and have often seen your 'focus' group. Why did you delete what I wrote? You share your arrogant views cant I do the same or am I wrong because my views are different than yours. Yes I had some harsh 'criticism' but surely a 'godly' man can handle somebody else's view even if the do deem it wrong?
I just wonder how long it will take for you to delete this.
I have one last question Michael is it possible that you think to much of yourself and that you think you are a better 'Role Model' than others? I look forward to your answer and your deletion of this comment...

Hi Jenny. I'm Stan. I can't defend Mike (I don't live in Tassy), but I can defend Jesus.

I read your previous comment that you posted earlier today. I thought it was a bit harsh, and posting a comment on a blog site like this, I didn't really agree with. But it's been done now, so be it.

I guess just in regards to role models, you are absolutely correct - we are all human, very human. With lots of faults and failings.

But can I encourage you to consider Christ, not on the basis of us so much, but rather on Christ himself.

Feel free to email me on mrlyingbird-email@yahoo.com. I would love to chat to you more about this. (PS. for those interested, mrlyingbird is a play on my last name).

hey jenny,
i'm sorry that we (focus) have given you that impression.
i know that a common criticism of christians is that they can be arrogant. i think this is a mix of christians BEING arrogant, and because they have a strong faith to something that cannot be proven.
all the same, i don't see mike as an arrogant guy. maybe i'm blinded by my religion!?
it's up to mike to decide if this conversation is appropriate in a public forum like his blog. nevertheless, i encourage you to keep this dialogue going, even if it is done privately.
cheers

I don't permit anonymous comments on my blog, and anonymous personal attacks get deleted very quickly. I'm glad you're willing to stick up for what you said, and give it credibility, by attaching your name. Going round to blogs and writing angry personal attacks under cover of anonymity doesn't solve any problems, but coming forward with your concerns is a step in the right direction. I think you would find Mike a humble listener who is willing to answer your questions if you approached him civilly.

Jenny I have no idea who you are or even if I have met you or talked to you.

Having said that if I have said something to offend you as pointed out above I'm more than happy to discuss it via email or face to face and offer an apology.

Public anonymous criticism here on my blog does nothing to help the situation.

My email address can be easily accessed via my profile. I look forward to hearing from you.
