pet sounds is fantastic
too bad man.. been cracked..
I've been trying to appreciate Pet Sounds for a while...but I can never feel anything more than indifference toward it. Hope you like it though, Mike.
That CD cover should not be on a Christian blogsite!

Pet Sounds may not be all hit songs, and is a bit much to listen to as a whole album, but its got some of the best pop songs in the world on it.

I think 'Caroline No' and 'God Only Knows' are especially beautiful.
Brian Wilson had a funny artistic vision, this sort of dope-addled teen-innocence wall-of-sound ideal. he managed to make an amazing soundscape, make pop instruments and those Wilson brothers muppet voices do great things.
As he went more and more mad he thought that Phil Spector was organising a Jewish conspiracy to bring about his downfall...
I'm not a massive fan of the album but I'm always pleased when I put it on: it's short, beautifully orchestrated and has God Only Knows on it. I don't know about the whole Christian website thing but you can't go wrong with a bunch of muppets feeding, what, llamas?
No one has said much about Sigur Ros...
God Only Knows and Caroline No are beautiful, and it works so well as an album.
I don't like sigur ros all that much. I haven't listened to them enough to justify my opinion though. I suppose I like catchy pop melodies the best.
