Six days is a long time...

...without blogging and internet

I got back from Sydney at about 11pm Sunday night. My arrival home was greeted by my fantastic and much talked about new shoes. I unpacked my stuff before repacking it all in preparation for University Mid Year Conference (MYC). I reckon I got to bed at about 2:30am.

I stupidly got up to watch the World cup final before finally leaving Hobart for the 3 hour drive northward. I unfortunately got a seat with three other bigger boys in the possibly worlds smallest car complete with 2 doors, 990cc engine and only three cylinders.

In any case we got there… As a change I thought I’d let my much talked about brand new 'metro' SHOES tell the story of MYC 06 enjoy.

Travelling up in the Car (The shoes were not permitted to drive)

Listening to talks on the Holy Spirit (Sam Green)

Eating porridge (Well eating a lot of everything generally)

Bible Study and personal prayer

Chatting up Chicks*

Cheating at Cards

Going to the beach

Sleeping lots

Playing Soccer

Talking to friends on the phone (Dan and Clare)

Buying me a costume from the Op-Shop**

Dancing with Gwyd and Emily***

*
(My shoes that is)
** (Upcoming post 'My aweful costume')
*** (I personally refrained from such Godlessness)

Looks like a good week - which MYC?

It was run by FOCUS (Fellowship of Christian University Students and my future employers) which is overseen by AFES (Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students).

Runs fairly simialrly to a Syd Uni MYC afaik.

ah, Mikey ... i have the SAME problem ... or used to till i discovered how splendid skirts are ... (don't recommend this solution for you, however) ... i used to have the biggest problem with my trouser legs not coming all the way down ... often showing the top of my socks and an inch or two of skin.

but then again many manly men in Scottland wear skirts ... i can think of a few tartans that would go splendidly with your new shoes!

I was so disgusted that you showed a picture of dancing on what I thought was a 'Christian' blog that I almost stopped reading it altogether!

Great montage of photos Mike, stay encouraged.

Black stockings and stilettos? The dress code in MYC Tassie is a little different to up here...

Anonymous said... 7/17/2006 10:52 am

I told you Mike that someone would mention the stockings with open toed shoes!!!
In defence of myself it was a 1920's dress up and it is the middle of winter. Normally I wouldn't commit such a terrible act against the rules of fashion.:)
Surprised a guy picked up on it though!

Goodness, gus, do you really think I would mean such a thing so soon? I'm not expecting anything of the sort and would be surprised and perhaps worried if they did.

Just a comment, sheesh!
