I didn't intend it to be a cheap, jeering shot. Also, fwiw, my post wasn't about you in particular.

God blessMikey Lynchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10778815574608699550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5797034330399726254.post-56783536984219544932008-11-13T09:45:00.000+11:002008-11-13T09:45:00.000+11:00Personally, I don't understand the need to try to ...Personally, I don't understand the need to try to categorise people and their views. Wouldn't it be better to judge arguments on the basis of the Bible, and individuals as the mixed-up packages they arrive in?

I think these attempts to categorise often stem from a desire to say "I'm not like that type of Christian" or "Christianity is not about that". In reality, of course, it is difficult to distance oneself from the actions and attitudes of other Christians in that way. In the eyes of non-Christians, anyway. It also potentially leads to siding against a fellow Christian on the basis of a mental categorisation of their views, rather than an engagement with their actual argument.Sherrinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16762088276758854686noreply@blogger.com
