Resurrection

With nothing to loose. So I decided to pull the sad little ipod apart. I used a small screwdriver and an old credit card to pry up the edge.


I carefully unplugged the (very small) hard-drive. You can see the pins in the picture above


In the picture above you can see the silver battery to the right



That's a view of the end of the hard-drive. I plugged it back in and clipped the whole thing back to together and...

Another handy tip: if it carks it again and the hard drive replug won't work, throw it around. Seriously. I ressurected my old one a few times when it was seemingly beyond repair by hurling it around the house in an amusing fashion. It became a sport in my house...

Yep, I concur with the rough treatment technique. My old 40gb ipod now works a treat two months on after I gave it a good belting. It's suprising the number of suposedly "dead" electrical appliances that respond positively to a fair smack around the chops.
