Lego

A while back Shiloh was asking if anyone had any Lego. Here's a couple of pictures of David's and my Lego. Now before you think how spoiled we were/are a short disclaimer. All we were ever given for birthday, Christmas and the like was Lego. We never got Transformers, toy guns, water pistols, or anything else just Lego, Lego and more Lego.

It's a very nice little collection. Sorry Shiloh you can't have any though it's packed away at a secret location.

It looks like a sunday school hall, but I know it was your house.

Girls Lego. I was more into Space, and then Technical Lego, which Brandon has now. We made buggys with suspension and steering etc.

ABS plastic, used alot in car interias. And I think LEGO invented it.

I am a technic man myself.. you have inspired me to pull out the technic over the summer.. ;)

Dave and I actually do have some technic. Dave had the pneumatic stuff and I had the motor driven stuff. We used to combine our stuff to make motorized cherry pickers with three joint pneumatic arms.

I might even be able to dig some pictures out of a few trucks we built as well.

No worries Mike. You should see the set I bought on Friday. 8+ in 1, dragons and other crazy and hilarious mythical creatures. There is even a "light brick" and "fibre optic cable" for the dragon's fire breath. Lego has come a long way.

I really liked the space stuff, and the pirate ships. The medieval stuff was cool too.

Did anyone ever have any Fabuland stuff? It was more kidsy kinda of Lego, with larger animal characters and different sized houses etc. The blocks still fit together though. They actually produced some books to go with the Lego, which I had somewhere.

Man, the hours I spent in my room playing Lego. I can remember making a virtually waterproof submarine one time. It only let in a teensy bit of water. Which was good enough for me. And the Lego men had airtanks on, so they survived ;)

ah yes, lego in the bathtup. most boats I designed sank pretty quick. then one birthday I got a nice solid plastic hulled cargo freighter. its pretty sweet, and survived most of the horrific storms that I, as lego god, cast upon it.

I spent a fair portion of my primary school years staring into those lego catalogues and dreaming of my next adventure. the stuff was marketed brilliantly.

We had fabuland.. it was awesome..
as a family of 2 boys 2 girls we managed to accumulate many varieties of lego, starting with duplo, finishing with the Robotic 2.0 set.. man, Lego was the life!!
And regarding lego catalogues.. they were the best! you didnt even need to have the sets, just use your imagination for what it would be like to have them and use them.. and then you could use the lego sets you did have in the times when you weren't just thinking about lego.. ahhhh *contented sigh*

I hated fabuland. I thought it was a bit girly. We had two fabuland figures and we used to make them the bad guys in all our wars.

We had Town, Trains, Technic, a little space, Duplo, and few Castles.

That lego collection is awesome. I really love those old-school lego sets. I find the new ones don't leave anything to the imagination and so you can't mess around with them as much.

My brother and I made some stop-animations with lego last year, but our webcam was too low-res to make anything decent.

my cousins had lego. they'd make awesome scenes and then display them for months in their house.

me and my bro got duplo, but i think we missed out on lego a bit. i did get a barbie though, whom i now blame for every body-image issue i had as a teen :P
