What boredom is this?

If you haven't been watching Le Tour on SBS you are crazy. For all you sports mad dutchies (and non dutchies) you should be be tuning in the SBS for the nightly highlights package. Each stage is also broadcast live every night.

Why are you crazy? Well for those who don't know Australia's Cadel Evans has figured prominently this year in contention for an overall win. Currently he sits 3.04 min adrift of the yellow jersey in third place. So tune in and cheer for Cadel.

Our paper has been covering this by interviewing a bloke every day named Fred, who is a former cyclist and has riden around the TdF course. We call it the "Tour de Fred". We have a Q&A every day with him about how the previous stage went and what to expect. I think people are really enjoying it.

I haven't been able to watch much though.

well actually I call myself a "Senior Sports Writer", which means I get to delegate. And I delegated the watching of the Tour de France to the other reporters ;)

Mike the answer to the question you used for your title is this: the greatest. The Tour is one of the most boring events on the sporting calendar, even for a sports mad Dutchy (my opinion of course). Kudos to the riders' endurance and the French scenery but watching sweaty men riding bikes in tight lycra for hours on end is viewing that should be reserved for the ladies.
