Oh the horror...

Sydney has been nice. I've spent the last couple of days hanging at Moore College with Seumas and the Tassie boys and girls. It has been nice to sleep in a bit. I've been gathering lots of information on Uni Church up here and FOCUS like groups here.

Also if you haven't discovered Facebook yet I suggest you jump on board lest you miss the train (they have trains in Sydney). One reason is it's a great way to catch up with the Sydney Moore College dudes and dudettes.

But the horror I hear you ask? Well I discovered to my horror last night I have a 6 and-a-bit hour layover in Singapore on the way to Germany... (Pause) that's right 6 freakin' hours sitting in the airport. What should I do?

1) Practice your "Thankyou" wedding speech (I know from experience of many weddings that it's best to write at least something down)
2) Learn some rudimentary German (don't know how much you can remember from Mr Von's year nine classes)
3) Practice your "too-cool-for-school" smile when you see Christine again ;)
4) Prepare a list of the ways you could take down the terrorists if they take over the plane (I always do this;)

The Singapore airport is really nice, and has pretty relaxed security, so it's not a pain to be there. Also, there are lots of foot massage places, in case you're stressed from all that flying. And if I remember correctly (?), they have free internet. Last but not least, you'll see flight attendants from all sorts of obscure airlines and their costumes/uniforms are cool and outlandish. Harkens back to the olden days. (You may not be into that, but I'm sure Christine would love to hear about it.) Enjoy!

Boony's record? Its not Sydney to London but it'll do. Although they apparently only drank in-flight, I think you'll need the six hours to stay in the game.

re: crabby rangoon
oo ooo yes, please, mike ... please get a foot massage AND take pictures of the flight attendants!

Hm. Wonder if you could get out of the airport for a bit? Like find a sightseeing bus with a 2 hour loop or something like that? I don't think I'd like to sit or walk around for six hours, ugh. Or at least leave the airport long enough to eat or something. And then get back in time to get a foot massage and take pictures like your beloved requested.

Are you kidding???? My friends from Singapore say the airport there is INCREDIBLE! They even have a swimming pool so you can get some exercise between flights! I think you'll have the problem with finding too much to do rather than the reverse!

Have fun and 'Gute Reise'!

Yeah, explore the airport and buy "I love Singapore" souvenirs! Or count how many planes you see land, and take note of which airlines have the smoothest take-offs and landings. And definitely check out that swimming pool..

Singapore is easily the best airport I have been stranded in (Just hope you don't get stuck too long in Frankfurt dude). There is a sleep section where they have banana lounges for you to lie in & the lights are dimmed right down. In the same section I even found a bunch of free massage chairs. If you don't want to relax, there are seriously a thousand things going on there to keep you busy. You have really scored BIG TIME!

Oh, and go & try the local specialty at McDonalds. We have the Mc Oz, what does Singapore have?
